Pt. Barun Pal had a close relationship lasting several decades with Sri Aurobindo Ashram (Delhi Branch) and he was also an ashramite for some years in the past. His Birth Anniversary was celebrated by his disciples by making a musical offering on the evening of 14 November 2023 in the Meditation Hall in which Shri Ramanan played on the Hansa Veena, the favourite instrument of Pt. Barun Pal, and Shri Shubradeep Paul played on the flute.
